About Torsten Nitschke

After finishing my studies in 2006 and working in a sales department after that, I decided to chnage my professional scope and moved to into a finace / business partner role From 2010 - 2017, I had the opportunity to gain experience in multiple financial roles at UTi Worldwide Inc. Thanks to my mentor - Jochen Kautz - I was able to move from regional deparrtments into global departments, so that I could get insights into a lot of processes around global finance topics - mainly reporting, database maintenance, budgeting and forecasting. With these experiences, I successfully built a network with the local entities and finally coordinated the global forecast & budget for the entire company - up until UTi Worldwide Inc. got sold to DSV Air & Sea in 2017. I am still benefitting from these experiences today and have been using these in every position I worked, since my time at UTi. I am convinced, that a good communication and a clear / non-complicated reporting frequence will ease the cooperation between the departments in every company. Easy reporting tools allow much better outlooks and will establish a much more accurate forecast process - which will then take away the yearly pain for all non-finance departments, when it comes to budgeting. Furthermore, the above mentioned tools and a good communcation always helps a controller, to become a real business partner to the CEO and/or Sales Director. I am looking for a new challenging position, where I can continue to learn, but also use my experience to help improving processes and relationships between Finance and all other departments.
