About Torsten Siedel

That’s why I work with engineers who enjoy building real systems and taking responsibility for how they perform in the real world. For more than 30 years, I have been developing and industrializing robotic and mechatronic systems at the intersection of research, space technology, and production environments. My background spans humanoid robotics research, ESA and DLR space projects, and industrial automation—always with a focus on, rather than theoretical prototypes. As CTO & Co-Founder of CeiliX, I am pioneering a floor-free approach to automation. I am the inventor of the world’s first ceiling-mounted omnidirectional vehicle, which forms the core technology behind our InfinityCrane and SkyBot platforms. Our work rethinks overhead mobility and intralogistics by reducing system complexity while unlocking unused industrial space. My approach is deliberately. I started with apprenticeships in industrial mechanics and IT system electronics, progressed through mechanical engineering and a PhD (Dr-Ing.) in robotics, and eventually moved into executive technology leadership. This perspective allows me to design systems that are not only innovative, but buildable, maintainable, and reliable in high-stakes industrial and space environments. • Robotics & mechatronic system architecture (industrial automation)• Ceiling-based automation & industrial intralogistics• Hardware/software development from prototype to series• Technology strategy, IP development & patent portfolios• Leadership across industry, research, and space programsI value, clear technical thinking, and teams that take ownership—from concept to deployment. If you are interested in developing real systems for real environments, we will likely have a good conversation.
