About Toshiaki Ueno

I'm the founder and CEO of Sokai, a company specializing in web marketing. We provide web marketing consulting services based on analysis of consumer trends. Prior to launching his business in September 2016, I worked for Rakuten, Inc, one of the biggest internet-based service providers in Japan and internationally, providing a variety of services ranging from e-commerce/shopping websites to online auctions, all the way to fintech related services. My most noted responsibility during his extensive tenure at Rakuten was my deep involvement in marketing and sales promotion on Rakuten Ichiba, a major Internet shopping mall operated by Rakuten. By leveraging digital marketing, he was engaged in the development and management of large scale marketing projects of over 100 million yen a month as a Senior Project Leader at Rakuten Ichiba Marketing (October 2007-November 2014). I also served as Sr. Director of Marketing for the New Service Development Office, a position reporting directly to the CEO,(April 2015- August 2016), where he was in charge of managing and developing new customers, as well as lead-nurturing after the launching of new businesses. Prior to this, I was Sr. Director Marketing at Rakuten Malaysia Sdn.Bhd (December 2014-March 2015) where he was responsible for rebuilding their local business and improving their ROI on marketing budget.
