Toysha Walker is an accomplished, dedicated professional certified as a Project Management Professional and a Six Sigma Black Belt with over 20 years experience. She graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science receiving a scholarship as a Lady Tigers Women’s Basketball team member. The first five years of her career, she worked as an Automation Engineer at Texas Instruments in Dallas, TX. While at Texas Instruments, she programmed front-end software using a Unix scripting language. She was selected to travel to Germany for a one-year project. She set up the standard process documentation for the German Automation Team to follow for future software development and maintenance. In 2004, she began working at Micron Technology Virginia in the same capacity. Toysha was promoted to Fault Detection & Classification Team Lead. As site Project Manager, she successfully reached 1.25x goal by deploying 315 tools to production a week before deadline. In this role, she was responsible for project planning, assigning tasks, deploying tools, handling vendor issues and end-user training. Toysha progressed within her career by earning her Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Baylor University in Waco, TX. With her new competences and new position of Equipment Performance Tracking Program Manager, she led a team of Six Sigma Black Belt engineers and accomplished a cost avoidance solution valued at $5.18M within 6 months with a $250K budget. She also facilitated industry workshops, authored two published documents, and led proof of concept pilots all focused on improving manufacturing efficiency. For several years, Toysha was a Project Management Consultant/Instructor responsible for helping organizations and professionals gain adequate knowledge to streamline their process through setting up Quality Management Systems (QMS), Project Management Offices (PMO) and Project Management training courses. Her clients included Department of Homeland Security, Fortune 500 companies and international businesses. She believes being open-minded, flexible and adaptable is key to providing customized sustainable solutions to her clients.
