About Trace Sheehan

I've spent the last decade creating premium unscripted content across the vast media landscape of platforms, formats, and genres. Simply put, I’m a storyteller. And my true passion is sports. But I believe the key to a great sports story (or any story for that matter) is to tap into something bigger that resonates with all of us. Characters, obstacles, stakes, perseverance. Tried and true techniques that engage and entertain no matter how many or how few f#@%s you give about the subject. Over the last 15 years, I have produced over a dozen series and films, including debuts at SXSW, Tribeca, DocNYC, and TIFF, with a wide range of network partners including Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, NatGeo, Max, Snapchat and more. My current project is the upcoming, groundbreaking docuseries around the Esports World Cup for RJ Cutler's This Machine Filmworks and Sony Pictures Television Nonfiction. Notable projects produced include Amazon's The Rebels (a scripted comedy inspired by the classic HBO series 1st & 10); Max's The Scheme (about a young sports agent caught in the middle of an FBI operation to bring down corruption in college basketball) and Holy Heist (the incredible story of a Catholic priest, a boxer, a former IRA solider and a retired cop pulling off the fifth largest robbery in US History); Snapchat's The Honeybeez of ASU (a docuseries following the nation's only collegiate plus-sized dance line; Hulu's Food Evolution (a deep dive into the polarized GMO debate, narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson); Nat Geo's Buried Truth, and many more stuck in development hell:) Last but not least, I have also produced several recent podcasts including: Bet On Yourself with NBA Star Fred VanVleet for Acast, in partnership with Intuit; My Greatest Game with Sam Mitchell, Brian Geltzeiler and Chris Bosh for Sugar23; Queen of the Con (Season 5 about Dennis Rodman's notorious business manager, Peggy Fulford); and Sports Matter (an interview series with sports documentary filmmakers).
