Background
About Tracey Howerton
I enjoy engaging in research, and also serving as a "research facilitator", helping users of all ages and experience levels discover, access and appreciate the enduring value of historical resources collected and curated by libraries and archives. I have over twenty (20+) years of experience working in the library and archives field, and over twenty-five (25) years of experience working in public service and education-related organizations. Having worked in a range of library and archives settings, I maintain a unique perspective on the similarities and differences between such organizations, including their shared challenges and unique strengths. I also enjoy writing, and exploring the local and regional histories of the communities where I live. It is among my long-term goals to continue working to demonstrate how libraries and archives are vital contributors to community building, lifelong learning, and civil society.
