About Tracey Shepherd

My passion lies in supporting people, especially those living in rural communities, to achieve their aspirations and dreams. I want to see a lifelong learning environment for all NZers where people can learn in a way that best suits their needs. I believe that the current training and education system works for a few and there are many who would engage if the system was more flexible and relevant to their situation. My skills lie in understanding how to work within current policy settings for education to develop more flexible solutions for a wider audience. This includes developing collaborative relationships with others who work across the education sector to develop flexible and relevant learning pathways. I support a group of rural education experts from around the country, who are incredibly talented and committed to making a difference for people in the rural communities they live in through effective education and training solutions. They are reshaping the way training and education happens in their communities, supporting people to succeed and achieve their dreams.
