Strong, culturally competent, authentic leader passionate about innovation and student success. More than seven years of experience leading all academic support services at a university learning center, including training and supervision of staff and comprehensive grant-funded programs for academically unprepared and/or financially disadvantaged students. Reputation for initiating and fostering cross-functional and -departmental collaboration and partnerships. I am the Associate Director at Holman Success Center where I have the opportunity to interact with hundreds of college students. In my current role, I am the Starfish tenant administrator for EMU and also manage the EMU EagleApp app content for the University, in addition to supporting all HSC academic support programs (Supplemental Instruction, tutoring, Success Coaching, Peer Academic Coaching, Eagle Study Tables, Eagle Rewards) with data collection, analysis, and evaluation. More about me: I have an iced-mocha addiction and an Android phone my daughter named “Ruth.” I’m an Excel geek who loves to tease revelations from tables and graphs, and I am deeply gratified by producing answers, direction, and results from analyzing and organizing raw data. I am a recent convert to the descriptive grammar approach to a singular "they" pronoun. I am most fulfilled by those small moments of celebration when I can assist a student in their path to degree completion. I have a B.S. in Professional Writing with a minor in business, an M.A in Teaching of Writing, and a graduate certificate in Higher Ed - Academic Advising - all from Eastern Michigan University. I also have a wealth of real-world experience in accounting and administration.
