Tracie N. Ransom is the Assistant Dean for Community, Engagement & Opportunity at Tulane Law School. With more than 20 years of career experience, Tracie has served as a consultant, trusted advisor and strategic business partner to law firms, universities, businesses and nonprofit organizations. She is a former partner in a large law firm, adjunct law professor, in-house counsel and department director in a Fortune 500 company and federal appellate and district court judicial law clerk. For four years, Tracie taught a course for business and organizational leaders through The Ohio State University Glenn College of Public Affairs. She also coaches professionals seeking to advance in their careers, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and strategies necessary for success in law firms and corporate America. Committed to service, Tracie was a member of the Board of Directors of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and was appointed by the Supreme Court of Missouri to serve on its Commission on Racial and Ethnic Fairness. Tracie previously served on a pro bono basis as Counsel of Record for a Coalition of Black Male Achievement Initiatives in the Fisher v. University of Texas case decided by the U.S. Supreme Court in the 2012 Term. She assisted with the preparation of amicus briefs filed in the case – at the Supreme Court and on remand to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit – that asserted arguments regarding the importance of diversity in higher education and in society more broadly.
