Estate planning is important to address now! When you pass away or become incapacitated, you do not want a stranger to make the important decisions about your medical care or distribution of your assets or how to raise your children. You can make all the important decisions now, and make them legally binding, by working with an estate planning attorney like me. Planning for your death can take some effort and thoughtfulness, but when done properly, you can create a safety net for your family and direct how to distribute your accumulated wealth. Everyone's situation is unique, and no one estate plan fits every individual. In addition to estate planning, I volunteered over many years and continue to volunteer much time on local PTAs and currently the PTA Council to ensure all children have access to additional enrichment and educational needs that are not provided by the district. This involves listening to, reading and fielding suggestions and ideas and then taking the appropriate steps to implement everything possible to try and reach every student. Thinking outside the box is a must. Throughout the years professionally, I've also represented spouses and parents in every aspect of family law proceedings; including divorce proceedings, paternity proceedings, child and spousal support cases, removal cases, restraining orders, orders of protection, and divisions of assets and debts. In addition, I've represented clients in real estate transactions. Finally, working alongside some of our IL State Representatives and an IL State Senator on a Legislative Advisory Council for many years was an extremely humbling and rewarding experience. There I served as the Recording Secretary for the State Finance & Budget Committee, Recording Secretary for the Education Committee and the Executive Secretary for Special Sessions.
