About Tracy Andersen

In my early career, I began as a counselor/social worker and gained significant experience working with the mental health population. Making the decision to go back to school and change my career path to become a Registered Dietitian was one of the most rewarding and proudest moments of my life. My social work experience focused heavily on substance use and mental health disorders within the homeless population in Trenton, NJ. As a registered dietitian, my career experience revolves around Clinical Dietetics in an acute care setting, a Facility Dietitian in long term care, and currently a Renal Dietitian with Davita. While all of these positions I have held are significantly different from each other, all encompass all aspects of dietetics in different ways. Experiencing this variety always keeps me on my toes and continuously learning about manifestations of different disease states, how to treat them, how they differ among different age groups, the effects of CKD and ESRD on the body, and the different modality’s of how patients not only survive, but thrive while on dialysis. Helping people has been the priority in my entire career as a whole. Whether it be in social work or dietetics, I always feel honored when patients allow me the privilege to be a part of their lives, and trust me to provide them care.
