About Tracy Brown

An experienced clinician and educator with over 19 years of service with Nova Scotia Health. My career spans clinical practice as an RN and NP, entry-to-practice and post-licensure education, and professional practice leadership, with a focus on advancing excellence in patient care and NP development across the healthcare landscape. Currently, I serve as a Provincial NP Professional Practice Leader, supporting system-wide professional standards and innovation. Prior to this, I held the role of Provinicial NP Educator, Hematology NP at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, Palliative Care NP, and Critical Care RN. These roles have given me a deep understanding of diverse healthcare environments, and the complexity of delivering person-centered care. In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about post-secondary education. I have taught RN and NPs as a Sessional Instructor at both Dalhousie University and Cape Breton University, helping to mentor and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals. I am committed to fostering professional practice excellence, supporting interprofessional collaboration, and championing the growth of NP roles across the healthcare system.
