About Tracy Mitchell

I am a passionate academic with a proven track record of student achievement and a commitment to delivering excellence in both further and higher education. Currently, I serve as an HE Programme Leader in Criminal Justice at a University Centre, a L3 Campus Course Coordinator and a Lecturer in Criminology and Law. I combine academic expertise with strategic leadership to foster high-impact teaching and learner success. Holding a First-Class Honours degree in Applied Social Sciences and a Diploma in Education and Training, I am currently studying towards a Master’s in Serious and Violent Crime. I’ve been honoured with staff awards for teaching excellence, reflecting my deep commitment to learner progression and quality teaching. My role also involves driving curriculum development and quality assurance, both internally and externally. I serve as an External Verifier for WJEC and act as Lead IV for Criminology, where I champion best practices and standardisation across cross-campus teaching environments. I’ve also played a key role in forging relationships with partner universities, ensuring alignment, progression opportunities, and a collaborative academic experience for our students. With a background as a former SEN professional, I bring an inclusive, learner-focused approach to both teaching and mentoring. I actively support and mentor academic staff, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and educational excellence.
