Background

About Tracy September

I have attained a lengthy and strong background within the broader South African NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) sector, over the past 20 years. I have developed a keen interest in the development and upliftment of vulnerable people, communities and our broader society. On starting my current post I recognised that it was not enough to finance and mentor students to graduate University. It is only once an individual is employed that they can truly say that they are freed from poverty. Only then can the individual become a positive contributor to the South African economy. In line with this thinking, my current programme actively addresses this gap and is producing graduates that are also 21st century leaders. I have a wealth of experience in managing programmes that support both education and the emotional wellbeing of people including those that have experienced various forms of trauma and abuse. My varied experience enhances my skills of networking with government other NGOs, CBOs, various other organs of civil society at grass-roots level, corporate partners, CSI practitioners. Through these stakeholder relationships, I have also gained knowledge of codes and how best to improve partners scorecards through the various programmes offered. My original employment mandate was to grow and capacitate the organisation to automate and deliver effective and efficient services to our partners. In my current post I have directly developed and implemented both systems and policies that have supported and attained this growth. Through my experience in Operational, Events, Project and People Management, I have refined my ability to manage effectively and efficiently. I have also built strong relationships with staff, my fellow colleagues and partners in general. I have a natural and demonstrated leadership ability to create various platforms for the empowerment of others.
