About Tracy Sibanda

Have experience in conducting research, devising & implementing local community programs targeting 10-11 year old children who benefited from an After-School Club that myself and a colleague felt was the best self-funded intervention (€1 per child which we recycled into the program by adding it to local trips or relationship building events chosen by the children themselves). The objective of this intervention was to engage young people in meaningful after school activities including homework. A Former Deputy Head-girl in Ratoath College-acting as a role model to support my peers, write & read speeches to welcome parents & special local county council guests. This opportunity enabled me to build networks that served well in acquiring my Citizenship and assimilate/integrate very well within my community. Also a Former President of Africa Society (ITB)-a platform I utilised to bring students from varying ethnic minority backgrounds to network, share ideas & information on life skills ranging from employment opportunities, acquiring theory tests and debates while celebrating a wealth of cultures- Awarded by the African Scholars Association Ireland). I pride myself with over 4 years customer care experience including Retail which consequently led to my promotion to Senior Sales at JD Sports - a great experience in learning to delegate, lead and listen attentively & address customer queries. Upon graduation I took my work experience of Service Coordinating in Mulhuddart Community Centre and delved into residential services supporting adults with disabilities. Also went on to explore the residential services for young people in care, an experience fuelled by a personal experience of growing up In Care and just wanted to be a supportive role model just to give back the care I got in Foster Care. Came out with a great deal of experience after working frontline advocating for people at risk of homelessness for 4 years. This involved liaising with local authorities regarding assessments & sourcing emergency accommodation, assisting with social welfare payments etc. Finally excited to explore the role of managing housing schemes & social engagement.
