Marketing. Meaning. And a bit of money along the way. Making more money isn't a bad thing. In fact, it's what we're all doing here. But can you do it without selling out? Thousands of relationships. More than a few failures. Over a billion smackeroos. And one soul largely intact. That’s a decent track record. I’ve been doing marketing for decades. It blows my mind to look back the amazing things that I've done with it. I began long ago dropping newspapers on porches. That taught me. Some time after that I started a candy store out of my parents' front room dealing candy to my fellow neighborhood kids, until their moms unionized and shut me down. That also taught me. And the journey has been a rocket ride ever since. I’ve successfully been a professional illustrator, graphic designer, copywriter, advertising agency owner, creative director, art director, author, blogger, salesman, brand strategist, pitchman, public speaker, marketing strategist, team leader, Director of Marketing, VP of Marketing, CMO, Chief Brand Officer, and I’ve even taken the trash out a time or two. Over the years I’ve helped create a boatload of revenue, rocked multiple industries, and helped hundreds of people progress in their careers and businesses. All with varying resources, but always with a combination of Marketing and Meaning. I'm just a regular dude. But. I am also uniquely creative. I am helplessly driven to build something better. And I’m inescapably drawn to achieving something meaningful. Those are the ingredients for my secret sauce. This life is a wonderland. I couldn't be more grateful that the Big Fella has given me a turn on this incredible ride. And I can't wait to see what I can make of it today. If you're still reading this, high five, my friend.
