I am a health information leader with over 15 years of experience in the development of health information. I have demonstrated experience in patient information, business communication, health literacy and plain language, and I regularly give talks and conduct workshops on plain language and health literacy. As a leader, I am collaborative, conscientious and resourceful. My aim is to foster positive and innovative work environments. I am known for being a diplomatic and a fair people-manager – someone who is willing to make hard decisions and have the difficult conversations that are needed to help a team succeed. To be an informed decision maker, I rely on experts and both formal and informal methods of evaluation to meet people's information needs. In the ever evolving and advancing healthcare field, I embrace and lead change and stay current through my dedication to continuous learning. My ultimate goal is to ensure that information is created and delivered in a way that makes it understandable and useable for all audiences so that they are empowered to effectively manage their own health.
