About Travis Abner

I Enlisted in the Navy in March 2015 and upon completion of training as a Hospital Corpsman transferred to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center’s Surgical Intensive Care unit as nursing support staff for two years. In November 2017 transferred to Naval Hospital Pensacola, starting out as the primary medical assistant for the hospital Gastroenterologist and his nursing staff being their point of contact for patients and providing patients weekly education for their upcoming Gastroenterology procedures. In February 2018 took the position of team lead for the Dermatology clinic managing and training a total of 8 team members both enlisted and civilian and ensuring the integrity and maintenance of of clinic equipment and machinery. In December of 2018 was selected to be member of the Connected Corpsman in the Community at the Naval Air Technical Training Center location. While currently in the program have provided direct patient care for Naval aviation students with tele-health communications with a supervising provider, trained five incoming team members for multiple clinics within the program, has been primary resource in IT equipment management and troubleshooting for: cell phones, tablets, computers, and Global Med’s Transportable Exam Station. While serving in the armed forces I have found my interest in software development and web design continuing my education looking to successfully transition into the field of work that drives my passion and goals.
