I compare my role as a systems engineer to that of an architect or a general contractor even though I work in technology and have extensive experience both pre-solution and post-solution lifecycles. Like a general contractor, I have broad knowledge of all the components in a network architecture. Using this knowledge, I listen to my customers intently to understand their challenges and desired outcomes. Only then do I help them plan the solution that best meets their needs and environment. Earning the trust of my clients is a priority for me, along with clear communications, team building – both internal and external – and placing a premium on delivering excellent customer service. My greatest rewards include the contributions I have made with new customer relationships, helping them implement and maximize the solutions we defined through a process that includes demonstrations, preparing effective proof of concepts and management of the integration and adoption phase of a project. I thrive on the opportunity to partner with customers and my team to evaluate, design, implement, and align technology investments to achieve tangible business goals.
