About Travis Buckle

I bring hands-on engineering experience and project management discipline. My focus is execution: getting complex hydrogen infrastructure built and running. I’m a technical manager with more than six years in green hydrogen and over a decade in heavy engineering. I’ve taken projects from ship engine rooms to Europe’s first refinery-scale PEM electrolyser and now to one of the largest hydrogen projects in Southern Europe. At Galp, I manage delivery of the 100 MW electrolyser in Sines, a €250 m investment designed to replace a fifth of the refinery’s grey hydrogen with clean production. My role is to align EPCM, OEMs, and operations, making sure design decisions hold up in the field, risks are managed early, and equipment gets built, installed, and commissioned on schedule. Before Galp, I worked with ITM Power on the Refhyne project at Shell’s Rhineland refinery, coordinating commissioning of what was then the world’s largest PEM unit. I’ve also run global service and aftersales projects for gas systems, and I started my career at sea as a marine engineer, responsible for power systems, generators, and plant operation.
