Travis offers relevant experience in transmission & distribution planning, generation procurement, energy policy development and strategic investment. Travis provides clients with a unique expertise in the integration of power system resources into the existing transmission and distribution networks operations by providing advice for project risk assessment and strategic planning. He has advised clients through procurement mechanics and due diligence as part of strategic development and acquisitions, with an emphasis on both renewable and conventional generation resources. Travis helped lead a procurement initiative in Nova Scotia for renewable energy acting as the Renewable Electricity Administrator (REA) for the Province. As part of the REA, Travis assisted in leading the stakeholder consultations and developing evaluated criteria ensure rate payer value was balanced with decreased project completion risk. Prior to joining Power Advisory, Travis worked as a Transmission Planner at the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) where he was involved in developing regional integrated system plans with ten to twenty year planning horizons and assessment of distributed generation integration in urban areas. Travis also worked at the OPA as a Senior Business Analyst with the Generation Procurement department. He was the lead on the ongoing evolution of the FIT program for the OPA responsible for policy and process development, price analysis, domestic content implementation, stakeholder consultation and advising government. Prior to OPA, Travis was a Distribution Engineer at Hydro Ottawa where he was a lead in development of the capital planning process including work on the regulatory rate submission, capacity planning and the evolution of the asset management plan.
