I appear in all jurisdictions in trials and appeals, across a broad range of commercial, corporations, property, insolvency and public law fields. I conduct litigation strategically to achieve the best commercial results, recognising when resolving the problem will be better than winning an argument. In addition to my broad commercial practice, I have extensive experience in litigation concerning VET regulation in Australia, and under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (Cth). In several proceedings in corporations and administrative law, I appeared for the successful party in changing the law by overturning established authority. Through my experience in cases involving equitable issues, I am skilled at deploying equity in commercial and property disputes. My clarity of thinking and persuasive legal reasoning are well-suited to appeals, in which I am often briefed to appear. After studying Chinese language, history and culture in Melbourne for 10 years, including Chinese legal translation at the University of Melbourne, I travelled to China to enhance my language skills. I lived in Beijing for one year while studying Chinese language at Beijing Normal University. I have acted for many Chinese clients using my language skills and cultural understanding.
