About Travis Scherer

I am currently a Lead Mechanical Engineer at Kimberly-Clark Corp. I graduated in May of 2014 from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Renewable Energy. Over the last 11 years I have been working at Kimberly Clark. I have gained experience in a variety of different areas including manufacturing, design, implementation, project support as well as project leadership. I have provided mechanical engineering and process support for multiple assets at the manufacturing facility in Neenah. This includes troubleshooting day to day issues on the machine, developing a plan and implementing long term machine improvements, safety improvements, managing machine drawings and part BOMs and providing packaging equipment support. I have designed parts and equipment for many different areas of the diaper and pad machines using my strong SolidWorks and AutoCAD knowledge. I led multiple capital projects ranging in cost between 100 thousand to 1million and implemented equipment at 4 different manufacturing facilities. Part of the responsibilities as project lead included; coordinating resources, coordinating work with vendors, managing the budget, making decisions, and supporting the conversions. I also provided mechanical leadership on multiple projects with budgets up to 5 million dollars. As mechanical lead I was tasked with; aligning equipment designs with multiple facilities, ordering equipment, generating installation instructions, and providing on-site mechanical installation support.
