Background
About Travis Towsley
After a career in action and outdoor sports media and events, I've recently started an MBA at UBC Sauder with the goal of transitioning towards a career focused on impact-related fields such as environmental sustainability and education. My work has required me to wear many hats on both the business and content side of the equation. Some highlights include- Sales director of SLVSH, a freestyle ski video and competition production company founded by Olympic gold medalist, Joss Christensen. Our content received over 30 Million Youtube and Vimeo views and we hosted professional competitions with Olympic and X-Games Champions in Finland, Australia, the United States and Andorra - the last of which received over 10 million impressions across channels- Account Representative with The Enthusiast Network (TEN), an action and outdoor sports print and digital media company which once included Transworld Snowboarding, Transworld Skateboarding, Snowboarder Magazine, Powder Magazine, Surfer Magazine, Bike Magazine, Newschoolers.com, and many other titles- Promoted after two years to become the Associate General Manager of Newschoolers.com, part of The Enthusiast Network. In this role I maintained my sales responsibilities as well as overseeing the Newschoolers sales program. This included strategizing the promotional product offerings, developing campaigns for other sales representatives, and working closely with production staff to implement campaigns and plan events. My proudest achievement was developing the annual Tell A Friend Tour, which brought professional athletes to 15-20 small east coast resorts and gave local kids the opportunity to meet and ski with their idols for a day. Moving forward, I would like to transfer the skills I've developed throughout my career towards an impact-related field. Specialties: Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Business Strategy, Content Marketing, Branded Content, Event Production
