Maturity, ambition & an aptitude for the scientific method has resulted in comprehensive experience in all facets of water management within, and beyond, the context of the mining environment. Albeit younger than most with similar level of skill & experience, ability often exceeds requirements of the task which has enabled exposure to roles at higher levels of responsibility. Specialist in large scale mine dewatering & slope depressurization systems, remote monitoring networks, large diameter borehole drilling, water balances, bulk water supply, surface water management and water governance policies/legislation. Actively & effectively managed operational & capital budgets in excess of R80 mil per annum. Managed multiple water projects at various levels from sourcing, contract management, studies, cost saving initiatives, optimization, execution, commissioning and handover. Assisted numerous Hydrogeologists & Geotechnical Engineers from a variety of business units & mines with dewatering & depressurization system design, monitoring and optimization including Mogalakwena, Bingham Canyon & Victor Mine’s. Designed & implemented Sishen Mine Depressurization Program from concept to execution which has had substantial financial benefits. Received Applaud Stars Award in 2018 for Innovation. Played an integral role in the development & optimization of Water Information Management System (WIMS). Committed to the use of new technologies & innovative solutions to promote best practice water management principles. Sound theoretical background in hydrogeology with forte in the practical execution of water strategies to meet operational demands.
