About Tre Blohm

I am the Associate Scientist at FYR Diagnostics. My role involves performing R&D activities for DNA and RNA sequencing. I am responsible for building and running our NGS wet lab and dry lab pipelines, providing training, implementing lab documentation and workflows, consulting with technical scientists, and conducting R&D NGS work. I have also worked as a Clinical Lab Tech, performing SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR tests and variant surveillance sequencing. I am certified as a Molecular Diagnostic Technician (MDT) by American Medical Technologists (AMT) and licensed by the State of Montana Board of Clinical Lab Practitioners as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist. I obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Montana, specializing in ancient DNA and paleoepidemiology. My work involved excavating caves, discovering Neolithic era materials and remains, and using DNA to reconstruct their life histories. I also graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Anthropology and Biology. Additionally, I have field experience in biological anthropology and forensic anthropology, ranging from archaeological cave excavations to modern forensic anthropology field surveys.
