I have always loved helping people. I want others to feel seen and heard. Now I get to do it in a school building alongside amazing educators each day as a school counselor. I am driven by a deep commitment to helping students thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with diverse student populations, providing individualized support and interventions that empower students to achieve their full potential. I have had the opportunity to be recognized as Teacher of the Year by my colleagues and in past years as Educator of the Quarter by our local Central City Optimist Club. In addition to my school counseling experience, I have spent the past 7 years as a freelance curriculum designer, collaborating with others to develop engaging and impactful learning materials that support students' emotional growth and well-being. This dual expertise has given me a unique perspective on the intersection of academic success and emotional health, allowing me to craft holistic programs that nurture the whole child. My core strengths include: Social-Emotional Learning: I design and implement programs that foster emotional intelligence, empathy, self-regulation, and positive interpersonal relationships. Family and Community Resource Connection: I work closely with families to connect them to valuable resources, ensuring that students have the support they need at home and in the community to succeed academically and emotionally. Child Advocacy: As a staunch advocate for children's well-being, I champion their needs within the educational system, ensuring they receive the necessary resources, services, and attention to flourish. Counseling Support: Whether providing individual counseling or facilitating group therapy sessions, I create a safe, supportive space for students to explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and address any mental health challenges they may face. My goal is to create an environment where others feel safe, supported, and empowered to take ownership of their growth. I am passionate about pouring into others, building strong relationships with families, and working as part of a team to create positive change. I am also very passionate about helping parents and supporting them as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of parenthood. I am always open to connecting with fellow professionals, educators, and organizations who share a similar mission of supporting students' mental health and emotional well-being.
