About Trent Hester

Originally from the small town of Camilla, Georgia and a graduate of Westwood Schools, I decided to start my college career off at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC). I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Writing and Communications and, while a student at ABAC, served in a number of student leader positions. I continued my education at Valdosta State University and hold a graduate degree in Public Administration. I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Higher Education Leadership and Practice at the University of North Georgia. Professionally, I have had a wide range of experiences. Working at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College has offered me the opportunity to reach into many different aspects of higher education including admissions, residence life, marketing and communications, orientation, study abroad, scholarships, student engagement, mentored research, and more. I have a deep passion for helping others and derive a great deal of personal satisfaction from the ability to help students achieve their goals! On a more personal level, I love music. I am an active member of a band, Redirected, and sing, play guitar, piano, and more. This is my biggest hobby and something that I use to keep myself grounded.I got married in October 2017 to my amazing wife, Kelsey. We have two dogs, Gracie and Stark, and an incredible son, Patton. My wife serves as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for the Tift County School System and has an incredible love for children with special needs. We are both blessed to work professionally in fields that we are passionate about and we look forward to seeing what the future holds!
