Background

About Trevor McGonnell

I am a graphic designer, illustrator, and lifelong student of design. After ten years in banking and finance, I decided to return to my first love design, and I have never regretted that decision. My very unique professional background has given me the skills to approach design with an analytical mind allowing me to synthesize the unique characteristics of each client into a visual language and system that showcases the personality of the brand to the world. Over the past three years at Cartel I have honed my skills and developed a specialty for branding, marketing materials, and user-centric design. My strong understanding of branding and communication principles combined with an expertise in Adobe Suite make me a real utility player in the design game. Before I returned to school for Graphic Design I spent ten years in banking and personal finance. In that time I learned that every penny counts, attention to detail is key, and even if the customer can't articulate what they want if I'm really listening I understand exactly what they need. Core Skills: Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite | Typography, layout, color-theory | Attention to detail and brand consistency | Data visualization and infographics | Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines | Experience in Social Media Graphics | Designing for both print and digital media | Motion graphics | UX/UI Design Principles | Extremely familiar with web and mobile design standards.
