About Trevor Murphy

After eight years experience as a health insurance actuary, I'm seeking to use my business analytics and programming skills to effect data-driven decisions at a small or mid-sized company with a targeted social impact. Over the course of my career, I've successfully "changed the turbines mid-flight" on mission-critical Excel tools, introduced version control software to an analytics team that had been "just getting by" on casual peer review, and shepherded statistical novices to deliver digestible insights to clients with city-sized concerns. My strength has always been analytics, but for a period at Florida Blue I took a lateral move into a non-actuarial management role. I loved the experience for its new challenges and the opportunity to get the perspective of our business partners, and I am excited to steer my career towards analytics management in the future.
