Background
About Trevor Stockinger
Trevor V. Stockinger is founding partner of Kesselman Brantly Stockinger. He has significant experience involving complex business litigation. He has a particular focus on antitrust and unfair competition, and has worked on cutting-edge cases concerning the interaction between intellectual property and antitrust law. He has represented major clients in litigations regarding a wide range of markets including the pharmaceutical, semiconductor, cosmetics, and music industries. He has successfully prosecuted and defended cases involving a variety of anticompetitive conduct including buyer’s side group boycotts, horizontal and vertical price fixing, and pricing actions taken in violation of a duty to deal. Mr. Stockinger also frequently advises clients concerning antitrust issues relating to distribution agreements, exclusive dealing contracts and antitrust compliance programs. Mr. Stockinger has been selected as a “Rising Star” lawyer in Southern California by Los Angeles Magazine multiple times. Prior to founding KBS, Mr. Stockinger was partner at Goldberg, Lowenstein & Weatherwax LLP, before which he practiced for nearly a decade at Irell & Manella LLP. He also clerked for the Honorable Rhesa H. Barksdale, Circuit Judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mr. Stockinger has lectured at Loyola Law School’s Antitrust course and has served as an adjunct professor teaching students participating in the Giles Sutherland Rich Patent Moot Court, the Vis Moot International Arbitration, and other moot competitions. Mr. Stockinger also co-authored with David Kesselman the article “Vertical Price-Fixing: Why California’s Per Se Rule Against Resale Price Maintenance is Actually Good for Businesses and Consumers” published in the journal Competition. In addition, Mr. Stockinger peer-review edits the antitrust and intellectual property chapter in the California Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law treatise.
