About Trevor Yu

I am MASc student in Systems Design Engineering with a focus on medical AI and developing solutions for physicians that leverage medical data to deliver intelligent insights. Currently, I am working on using large language models to understand medical notes and novel embedding methods for structured medical data. I graduated with a BASc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Through co-op, I have previous experience in data science positions working with time-series modelling and data analysis, including empirical model fitting, anomaly detection, and natural language processing. I have also worked in research and development of biomedical technology including an airway-on-a-chip tissue model for chronic lung disease research, novel allergy assay, and transdermal drug delivery systems.
