About Trey Achterhoff

I currently work as a Senior R&D engineer in the Electrophysiology division of Boston Scientific in Arden Hills, MN. I assist in the design and testing of Pulsed Field Ablation catheters delivering IRE therapy for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. As a part of my group I get to participate in the design and testing of mechanical and electrical components and systems, pre-clinical studies, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and interfacing with component suppliers to meet our design goals. My undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering is from Iowa State University, where I competed on the university track and field team as a sprinter, hurdler, and javelin thrower. I am a competitive and driven individual who thrives on interpersonal interactions, solving brand new problems, and knowing that my work is impacting the lives of people around the world. Away from work I gain energy from rock-climbing, biking, being an active member of my church, and spending time with my incredible wife, friends, and family.
