About Trey Phillips

Retired Fort Worth Police Sergeant, Tactical Operations Division SWAT Team Leader, and entrepreneur, Trey Philips has dedicated his entire career to serving the Dallas-Fort Worth community. After more than 20 years in law enforcement, he’s made the unlikely transition to cannabis executive. Trey is the co-founder and President of:*Thrive Apothecary, a 4-time winner of best cannabis store in Dallas-Fort Worth *WELCEL, a premium physician-formulated hemp brand *Thrive Medical Cannabis, a medical cananbis prescription company for qualified patients in Texas *Fusion Healthy Aging, a boutique wellness and anti-aging medical practice. Trey along with his wife, Dr. Lisa Gardner, have made it their mission to offer high quality plant-based alternatives to mainstream medicine. The couple was also named the Face of Cannabis in 2021, 2022, and 2023 by Fort Worth Magazine. Through their products, educational efforts and advocacy, Trey and Lisa continue to help people look and feel better while becoming the very best versions of themselves. In his first career, before entering the cannabis industry, Trey served for 20 years with the Fort Worth Police Department, including as a Team Leader in SWAT. Before retiring in 2018, Trey engaged in over a thousand tactical operations, including high-risk search warrants, hostage situations, armed barricaded criminals, active shooters, and dignitary protection. While on active duty, he held certifications in Advanced SWAT Operations, Advanced Hostage Rescue, Tactical Team Leader, Explosive Breaching, Pistol & Rifle Instruction, Master Taser Instruction, FBI Defensive Tactics Instruction, Chemical Agent Instructor, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instruction. Trey attended Sam Houston State University before graduating from the Fort Worth Police Academy. In addition to their work promoting the health benefits of plant-based medicines, Trey and Lisa are proud parents to four great kids. In his free time, Trey enjoys being outdoors and physical fitness with activities such as weightlifting, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and road biking, and hiking.
