Began in the Medical field at 19 years old as a nursing assistant, crossed trained as a certified unit secretary, and cross trained doing legal secretary work for the psychiatric inpatient unit 25locked unit. lLast 25 years, worked as RN as staff nurse, charge nurse, med surg floor 46 beds. certified in chemotherapy, when worked with cancer patients giving chemotherapy, telemetry floor, critical drips cardizem, and Heparin. Last 2093 through 2016 helped establish the Palliative care consulting program at Yuma Regional Medical Center from the ground up to current date 4/2016. 8/2016 began working at Arizona Western College as a Professor of Nursing, to current date. Teaching nursing students Mental Health Community and Palliative Care. Train the trainer in American academy of Bereavement, Education for Physicians on End of Life Care, plus End of Life Nurses consortium care ICU curriculum (ELNEC). worked in Long Term care as ADON 1995 to 1997. off and on. periodically worked LTC 3 or 4 months 2016. May thru July. worked in psych in past 25 years for a short time as a nurse. staffing coordinator for Nurses Network when they had a Yuma office. plus did home healthy care for them as well. taught JTPA nursing assistance when I was ADON at Yuma Nursing Center. 40 years in the medical field, I love it and would never give it up. I have alot more to offer and plan on eventually writing a book.
