About Trisha Swed

Dr. Trisha Swed is an accomplished leadership development practitioner, scholar, and strategic consultant, bringing a wealth of experience in communication, education, and nonprofit leadership to her work. Her expertise lies in critical community leadership development, where she focuses on empowering leaders to foster inclusion, belonging, and sustainable, systemic change within their communities. With 13 years of experience in nonprofit and community leadership, Dr. Swed combines her deep knowledge of conflict resolution, program development, and community engagement to create innovative, sustainable systems designed to serve diverse populations effectively. Her work has been featured at renowned organizations and conferences, including the National Communication Association, the American Educational Research Association, the Association of Conflict Resolution, and the International Leadership Association. Dr. Swed is also the author of two forthcoming books:+ Ecosystems of Youth Leadership Development: Pathways to Programs (releasing February 19, 2025), a practitioner-researcher guide to engaging young people in meaningful leadership roles within their communities.+ Global Generative Leadership: Lessons from Women's Leadership to Sustain Our Future (December 2025), an edited volume developed in collaboration with the International Leadership Association and global leaders, exploring inclusive and transformative approaches to leadership. In addition to her consulting and writing, Dr. Swed is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction and Course Director at Temple University. Recognized as a Temple University Teaching Exemplar, she has eight years of experience teaching courses in core communication, cultural communication, public speaking, and conflict resolution. She also plays an instrumental role in refining academic practices by certifying course materials, updating curricula, and improving university assessment rubrics. Dr. Swed’s work is driven by her passion for creating opportunities where individuals and communities can thrive, particularly through inclusive leadership and education.
