In addition, she served as an Assistant District Attorney for a total of fifteen years. During her 20 years of experience, she has prosecuted and defended many trials of all types. She has worked in various divisions including child support, screening, criminal unit and the Domestic Violence Unit. There she prosecuted over 300 cases with a 99% success rate. As a result of her vast trial experience, Ms. Payne Palmer has been involved in most of the complex litigation matters. She has briefed various constitutional issues in opposition to motions to suppress evidence and testimony and has refined oral argument skills through pre-trial motions as well as trial practice, both of which required rapid yet efficient analysis and application of the law to fact specific circumstances. Trishawn has developed and sharpened her voir dire skills and trial strategies as a result of conducting over 100 judge and jury trials exhibiting accountability while maintaining a personal caseload of between 100 and 130 cases during her years with the DA’s office.
