Background
About Tristan Timbrook
I am an Infectious Diseases Pharmacist and Epidemiologist with over 15 years of healthcare experience spanning academic medicine, public health, diagnostics, and outcomes research. I am board certified in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy (BCIDP), hold an MPH with a concentration in biostatistics, and have authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications. I currently serve as an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. My research and consulting expertise center on real-world evidence (RWE), diagnostic and antimicrobial stewardship, and comparative effectiveness. I have served as an advisor to global diagnostic and health information companies including Roche, GenMark, Wolters Kluwer (Lexicomp), and bioMérieux—where I also served as Global Director of Health Economics & Outcomes Research. This dual perspective as both internal leader and external advisor provides a unique understanding of industry priorities, regulatory constraints, and evidence needs.I support initiatives across the product lifecycle, including drug dosing and safety reviews, market landscape evaluations, natural history of disease studies, and post-market evidence generation. I specialize in end-to-end research delivery—from study concept and protocol development to data management and advanced analysis, including Bayesian modeling and evidence synthesis, through to interpretation and peer-reviewed publication. My academic and public health work has focused on translating microbiological and molecular diagnostic innovation into measurable improvements in patient care, resource utilization, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). I previously held a faculty appointment as research track assistant professor at the University of Utah School of Medicine in the Division of Epidemiology and have led or collaborated on multicenter projects involving rapid diagnostics, stewardship interventions, and AMR surveillance. My current focus is advancing the clinical and economic evidence base for diagnostic-driven management strategies—particularly where they intersect with stewardship, implementation science, and public health policy. I am a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (FIDSA) and remain active in mentoring both in US and globally as well as peer reviews for leading journals.Let’s connect if you’re interested in impactful collaborations, strategic consulting, or evidence development in infectious diseases, diagnostics, and stewardship.
