About Troy Barden

I have a real passion for sport, working hard and helping people achieve goals - I believe this is what makes me a great coach. A career ambition would have to be my desire to become involved in developing sport programs to make them easier, more accessible and effective for all Australians. I am an experienced Coordinator with a demonstrated history of working in the sports and the learn-to-swim industry. Currently I work at the Australian Institute of Sport, work in a small team of three, running a highly successful swim school. My role involves the management of over 50 casual staff who work across 7 days for a strong customer base. Rostering, designing program delivery, training, providing customer service and leadership are part of my core activities day-to-day. My university education is inclusive of two bachelor degrees from the University of Canberra; Bachelor of Sports Coaching and Exercise Science, Bachelor of Sports Management. Outside of the learn to swim industry my working experience also includes interning for the Football Federation of Australia Centre of Excellence program. This included doing administration and coordination tasks to ensure the successful operation of an elite football talent training program. The internship included a six week trip to India as Equipment Manager for the Joeys football team in their 2016 u16 AFC tournament. My time with the FFA taught me the true value of working in a team in a high pressure, elite sport environment. My combined life experience had developed me into a highly capable individual who is skilled in Coaching, Administration, Coordinating, Event Management, Team Building, Microsoft programs and Public Speaking.
