Troy Gilbertson is a strategic thinker with 20+ years of significant professional accomplishment in nonprofit service and higher education. Troy brings significant experience in leadership and communication, teaching and development, and project management. He is known for a high degree of empathy and excellent communication skills. Much of Troy’s experience has been in organizations undergoing significant cultural and business change. He has a solid understanding of philanthropy and building a culture of gratitude and giving. Prior to accepting the Program Manager role, Troy had been a Career Navigator at Central Minnesota Jobs & Training Services (CMJTS). He managed a caseload of adult clients, assisting participants to identify strengths and overcome challenges to obtain long-term employment and self-sufficiency. Before his work with CMJTS, Troy was with Bemidji State University (BSU) for 14 years. As a faculty member he had the opportunity to serve in several roles. Notably as Interim Dean for the College of Health Sciences and Human Ecology, as a Department Chair, and teaching faculty. Collectively Troy’s professional experience demonstrates a cumulative history of developing people. He is excited to serve as the Adult Program Manager as another opportunity to develop and support people. His core work values are guided by principles of inclusion and respectful interactions. Troy believes decisions and actions need to be guided by a transparent organizational plan and stakeholder outcomes need to be the primary focus. He also believes that stewardship of place is an important responsibility. This is demonstrated in how Troy interacts with people and organizations, and how he models personal conduct and professional commitment.
