About Troy Lowe

My vision is of a world where every person, regardless of the postcode they are born in, is entitled to an excellent education and a safe childhood. In Australia, public education is the best tool we have to achieve this and to address social inequality and disadvantage. The biggest impact we can have at schools is by improving what teachers do in the classroom. In our classrooms, our job is not to make learning easy for our students, because effective learning takes hard work. Our job is to inspire our students to do the hard work of learning for themselves. The best classroom practices have been investigated by research; I help teachers select and modify them to best suit the context and students that we work with. I am passionate about testing and implementing new ways of teaching and love the challenge of the work we do.
