About Troy Schneiter

I have been the network administrator in a large non-profit continued care retirement community in downtown Seattle for the past 15 + years. This has been my only position in the IT field, however due to the diversity in department’s and client’s needs it has given me a great amount of experience in numerous facets of IT. I pride myself in managing a network of 10 servers, 130 desktops/laptops, 30+ mobile devices, 200+ users while keeping a 99.5% uptime average for all applications. Customer service, project management, compliance, consistently staying within budget, supervising, document management/archiving, managing vendor relations, user training and process improvement are all areas I excel in. I am action-oriented with strong interest in learning and improving. I also have the ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences in writing or orally. My work style is much more proactive than reactive. I try to stay on top of things and predict issues and resolve them before they become disasters. I take each job I have very serious and work very hard to maintain the absolute best customer satisfaction while not compromising my integrity or the integrity of the network/data. People find me to be very honest, reliable, trustworthy, empathetic, and a hard working team player. People often ask me how I made a transition to IT from a career in Sports medicine. It is really not that far of a stretch. In one instance you are training people to get the most out of their bodies optimize performance and to avoid/rehabilitate injuries. In the other instance you are training people and giving them the tools to get the most out of their work and helping them succeed and avoid disasters. The bottom line is I like to help people by giving them the tools and training they need to make themselves and business successful. I am hoping to find a position in a company that allows me to use my experience and skills to do just that.
