About Troy Whyte

Veteran with over a decade of military service in both the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army, now fully committed to a career in cybersecurity. I bring a mission-first mindset, technical precision, and proven real-world experience that translates directly into the digital battlefield. As a former Fire Control Specialist (13J), I operated AFATDS to process real-time targeting data, manage secure communications, and oversee encrypted systems—essentially functioning as a battlefield SOC operator. My earlier role as a Human Resources Specialist provided a rock-solid foundation in secure data handling, access control, and administrative discipline. Together, these roles taught me how to safeguard information, analyze time-sensitive data, and execute under pressure—skills that align directly with today’s Security Analyst responsibilities. I hold the CompTIA Security+ certification and am actively applying my knowledge in areas such as threat analysis, log review, and system hardening. In addition, I am a full-time student at Sussex County Community College (NJ) pursuing an A.S. in Computer Information Systems – Cybersecurity Track, further strengthening my technical foundation and long-term career growth. My goal is to join a cybersecurity team where I can bring military-grade discipline, situational awareness, and a deep understanding of secure operations to the front lines of cyber defense.
