Background

About Tru Hubbard

My primary interests focus on the impacts of human activity on wildlife behavior. I spent several years researching carnivore responses to human recreation, gaining extensive experience leading groups of research assistants in the field, managing large datasets, and completing complex statistical analyses in R. In addition, I have years of hands-on experience working with a variety of wildlife species at zoos, volunteering at local wildlife sanctuaries, and in past research positions. For example, I have assisted with anti-behavioral research of Arkansas darters from tiger musky, blood and fecal collection for a brown bear stress hormone study, and the breeding and management of a large reptile colony for genetic research. In my current position I get to apply many of the skills I’ve learned over the years to help educate the public and promote human-wildlife coexistence.
