About Trudy Davidson

I am very passionate about environmental conservation and a sustainable future. I have completed a Bachelor of Science: Ecology and Conservation Biology with a minor in wildlife management, at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. After finishing my degree, I worked for an environmental consultancy on the Gold Coast for over one year in the field of water monitoring on construction sites. I then moved back to the Sunshine Coast to be closer to family and gained a project officer position at Sunshine Coast Council in the biodiversity and waterways team within the environment and sustainability policy branch. Along with working at Sunshine Coast Council in the role of biodiversity and waterways project officer, my professional experience includes being an environmental scientist with ADG Consulting. This role had me working independently and traveling to different construction sites to undergo groundwater quality testing for environmental compliance to discharge into local waterways. I also have professional experience while I was still studying through a cadetship at the Brisbane City Council in 2012. During university I worked at council every week, which allowed me professional work experience in the natural environment, water and sustainability section. I have volunteered at the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, Animal Welfare League and at Maroochy Water Watch in Nambour. I have also completed a short course in assisting injured Australian wildlife. In 2012 I attained a Scholarship with the Clem Jones Group, for high academic and sport achievement and was chosen to be the student speaker at my graduation, in which I addressed approximately 800 people, in 2013.
