About Trudy Duffy

Trudy Duffy is a social worker, teacher, and consultant. She received her MSW from the University of Pittsburgh and her PhD from Simmons College, Boston. A professor at Boston University School of Social Work, she was a leader in teaching clinical practice, particularly methods of working with groups. Her practice over a number of years includes work in community health and mental health centers, schools, alcohol and drug treatment programs, a college for the art and a minimum security prison. When she moved to Arizona in 2005, she taught clinical practice courses at the Tucson component of ASU School of Social Work. Trudy is skilled in strategic, insight-oriented and expressive methods. A certified trainer and practitioner in psychodrama, she enjoys creative work-use of drama, stories, metaphors, movement and art-shown to be particularly effective with children and with those healing from trauma. She feels honored to work with military personnel and their families. She lives in Tucson and enjoys summertime in Maine.
