About Tsuyoshi Ishida

I am an international lawyer who has been working mostly out of Japan for the past 20 years. Being a native speaker of English and Japanese allows me to be especially adept at understanding and resolving diverse or cross-cultural issues. As in-house counsel, I have significant experience in managing legal matters (including compliance, IP, and corporate secretarial matters) of an organization in the following industries: manufacturing, automotive, construction, electronics, telecommunications, internet services, and entertainment. I also have significant expericence in working on various projects and transactions in Australia, India, Korea, China, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Japan, as well as participation in several global projects. I also have general management experience, having managed a subsidiary in Japan and having served as director and statutory auditor for several legal entities. Some of my accomplishments include:(i) negotiated and closded patent and know-how license agreements with all of the major electronics companies in Japan and Korea;(ii) played a key role in the formation of an internet services led and closed an acquisition of a medium sized business;(iv) managed the establishment and the closing of various business operations;(v) performed legal and compliance audits and investigations; and (vi) desiged and implemented various training programs. I enjoy providing creative ideas that come partly from my bi-cultural background and my experience in various industries, and I also enjoy providing solutions that are tailored to a specific client's needs. I value teamwork, integrity and long term relationships with my clients and colleagues.
