About Tulin Koch

From 1991 to Tulin served in the United States Air Force. In a short amount of time, Tulin worked her way from the lowest rank of Airman Basic, to a position of leadership as a Staff Sergeant. In Tulin made the decision to depart the Air Force with an honorable discharge to pursue her dream in education. Since graduating magna cum laude from the University of West Florida in 2004 with a dual B.A. in Elementary Education and Exceptional Student Education, Tulin has been employed by the Walton County School District. After spending ten years in the classroom teaching as an inclusion teacher, she was selected as Van R. Butler's Instructional Coach. This leadership position has offered Tulin a multitude of opportunities to grow as a professional, and as a leader. Currently, Tulin's leadership positions include School Based Leadership Team, Math Chair, Technology Contact, and School Improvement Chair. While in the classroom, leadership experiences consisted of Grade Level Chair, mentor teacher, and supervisory teacher. During the 2011-2012 school year, Tulin was nominated as Van R. Butler's Teacher of the Year. Tulin has participated in many extensive professional development programs and initiatives. In 2007, Tulin was selected to pilot the Response to Intervention program at Van R. Butler Elementary School. She has been an integral part of the school's S-BIT team. In addition, Tulin has traveled to various schools throughout Walton County School District to provide support and instruction on the MTSS process. Tulin has also participated in intensive Cognitively Guided Instruction training in the capacity of a leader/mentor. Through ongoing collaboration, Tulin has been able to encourage and foster various mathematical initiatives throughout the school. In 2016, Tulin received her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida. Tulin is currently pursuing her Ed.S. in Leadership at the University of West Florida.
