About Tumarripi Remfrey

Peter Remfrey is the CEO of Mumpara Group, and has over 20 years of experience in senior management roles across NGO and private organisations, helping them to develop an inclusive workforce, preserve cultural heritage, and engage Indigenous communities. Bringing seven incredible Indigenous-focused recruitment, nonprofit,and construction groups under one Mumpara family, it’s Peter’s mission to empower Indigenous communities to holistically break the cycle of generational welfare dependence. By helping Indigenous families secure ongoing work in a range of industries, providing culturally-sensitive training programs, and offering ongoing career support, Peter, along with the Mumpara Group is helping to grow generational wealth among Indigenous communities. While Peter does not personally have Indigenous heritage, he speaks fluent Tiwi and was raised on Wurrumiyanga on Bathurst Island in the Northern Territory, solidifying his passion for championing Indigenous culture and quest for powering tangible socio-economic change in Australia. With experience in most of the Northern Territory and Queensland's major Idigenous community projects and programs, Peter has played a pivotal role in the development, management, and execution of Australia’s employment and workforce development policies and strategies for Indigenous communities. This extensive knowledge of Indigenous culture and commercial challenges allow him to bridge the gap between employer and Indigenous talent and shape our client’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies so they meet modern principles, practices, and requirements. It’s Peter’s dream and purpose to help Indigenous people holistically break generational welfare dependency by 2030. With all the support, training, and combined resources of the seven companies in Mumpara Group, he is confident this can be achieved.
