About Tuomas Mantere

At the present position as Production director, I am responsible of production operations at Kuusakoski Recycling sites and recycling plant at Heinola. Production operations are focus on processing metal containing recycling materials to raw material products for industrial customers. Main processes are pre-sorting, shredding and automated mechanical sorting. Position includes co-operation to Kuusakoski´s sites in Sweden and Estonia. I have also strong experience in steel manufacturing industry and production environment for 7 years at Peikko Group. Description of my role has been managing manufacturing units, investments, technology projects and productivity development actions. I have also strong experience in purchasing and negotiating machinery contracts from international and local partners and building technology solutions (factories, production lines and machines) with the partners. I have been working in several functions in multi cultural environment and that has given me wide overview of companies functions and processes. I have been building systems and processes between organizations and units, previously in development positions. Learned challenges in multi-cultural environment and experience of co-operation in international supplier network. Previous working history in mechanical design and with the CAD systems has given me strong knowledge and understanding how the design systems and process has to be linked to other operations/functions/organizations in the company.
